Marian Málek (born April 6, 1975 in Ústí nad Orlicí ) is a former Czech biathlete .

Marian Málek lives and trained in Jablonec nad Nisou and started for the local club SKP Jablonec nad Nisou . The police instructor started biathlon in 1986. The Czech competed in his first race in the Biathlon World Cup at the start of the 1995/96 season in Östersund and was 108th of the individual. At the next World Cup station at Holmenkollen in Oslo , he achieved a first double-digit placement with 93rd place in the individual. It was not until the first individual of the 1998/99 season in Hochfilzen that Málek won his first point in the World Cup in 25th place. The high point of the season was the 1999 biathlon world championships in Kontiolahti , where the Czech competed in two races. In the sprint, he qualified 48th for the pursuit race, which he finished 49th. The following season he came on the side of Ivan Masařík , Roman Dostál and Zdeněk Vítek in a relay race in Oberhof in third place and thus reached his only podium finish in the World Cup. The international championship this season was the 2001 European Biathlon Championships in Haute Maurienne . In the individual, he finished 18th, but did not finish his sprint race after four mistakes in standing and prone shooting. In the relay race he was eleventh with Jiří Holubec , Petr Graclík and David Kristejn . After that the missions at the highest level became less frequent. In 2002 he contested his last World Cup race in Antholz . In Gurnigel he was also able to take second place behind Jože Poklukar in a European Cup sprint and achieve his second-best result in the second-highest racing series. He now works for the Czech biathlon association.
