Marie-Jo Zarb is a French songwriter , theater producer and director .

Life

Pinocchio (2013)

Marie-Jo Zarb met Bruno Pelletier in 1993 and wrote several songs for him. After this first positive experience, she worked with the band Native and with Francis Lai for the musical Les Sales Gosses . Then she worked for the record company Sony and wrote for Herbert Léonard, Larusso or, among others, the Sol en Si artist.

In 2000 she met Pascal Obispo and Lionel Florence and worked with Atletico's group of writers and composers. She has written for Patrick Fiori , Lââm , Julie Zenatti , Tina Arena , Patricia Kaas and Florent Pagny , among others .

In 2009 she took part in the French adaptation of the musical Zorro with Laurent Ban in the title role. In 2010 she founded the production company Aeternalis Music with Sylvain Bonnet . She sits on the Variété committee of SACEM and leads writing workshops at the Music Academy International in Nancy .

In 2013 she wrote and produced Pinocchio, the musical for the Théâtre de Paris based on the novel by Carlo Collodi . The music is from Moria Nemo; Pablo Villafranca, Nuno Resende , Sophie Delmas and Vanessa Cailhol play the leading roles.

In 2014, Marie Jo Zarb was awarded the Musical Creation Prize for the song Couper les liens .
