Marie Auguste Antoinette Friederike Alexandra Hilda Luise Princess of Anhalt (born June 10, 1898 in Ballenstedt ; † May 22, 1983 in Essen ) was the daughter of Duke Eduard von Anhalt , who ruled in 1918, and the older sister of the nominally last Duke Joachim Ernst von Stop .

biography

Marie Auguste Princess of Anhalt was born as the daughter of Duke Eduard von Anhalt and his wife Luise Charlotte Marie Agnes from the Saxon-Altenburg family. Her father had been the ruling Duke of Anhalt for a few months in 1918 .

Since March 11, 1916 she was married to Prince Joachim of Prussia , the sixth son of Kaiser Wilhelm II . The son Karl Franz Joseph emerged from the marriage. After her husband's suicide on July 18, 1920, she married Johannes-Michael Freiherr von Loën on September 27, 1926; this marriage ended in divorce in 1935.

From the mid-1950s to an advanced age, von Anhalt worked as a receptionist in the Essen headquarters of WASAG -chemie, a company owned by the brothers Berthold and Harald von Bohlen and Halbach . After the death of her son Karl Franz Joseph, she lived on a small old-age pension. Von Anhalt adopted Hans-Robert Lichtenberg, who was the operator of several sauna clubs , in February 1980 against the promise of a monthly pension of 2000 D-Mark . As a result of the adoption, he has since been called Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt . Since then, there have been numerous other adult adoptions of this name.

Von Anhalt died in Essen in 1983 at the age of 84.
