Marilena Scharff (born November 11, 1992 ) is a German athlete who specializes in short and long sprints and relay races.

career path

Marilena Scharff attended the Carl-Duisberg-Gymnasium . She is studying economics for a Bachelor's degree at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal . Because of her studies, she decided to move from LT DSHS Cologne to Dortmund.

Athletic career

In 2010 Marilena Scharff qualified for the German youth and junior championships .

In 2011 she had her greatest successes to date. It was German Youth Hall champion with the 4-by-200-meter relay, German team champion and the 4 x 100-meter relay German U20 champion and German U23 champion and finished with her at the German championships the 4 . Space.

In 2012, Scharf came fourth at the German Championships with the 4 x 100 meter relay and was again German team champion .

In 2015, after a two-year break from competition, Scharff made her comeback at the German University Championships with a 6th place over the 200 meters in Münster and only missed the qualification for the German Championships by 1/10. Since she cannot start that well, she runs relays and turned to the 400 meters . At the German Championships , she took 8th place with the 4 x 400 meter relay .

In 2017 Scharff set two new personal bests at the German Indoor University Championships in Frankfurt-Kalbach of 7.75 s over 60 meters and 25.00 s over 200 meters. At the German Indoor Championships in Leipzig, there were two other personal bests, over 400 meters and with the 4 x 200 meter relay, with which she also became German indoor champion .

Club membership

Marilena Scharff has been working for the LG Olympia Dortmund since 2015 (parent club: TSC Eintracht Dortmund ). Before that, she had been with LT DSHS Cologne since 2011 , where she came from the Wuppertaler Sportverein (WSV).

Awards
