Marko Jarić , (Cyrillic Марко Јарић ; born October 12, 1978 in Belgrade , Yugoslavia ) is a former Serbian basketball player .
He played with Montepaschi Siena in the Lega Basket Serie A . Jarić was previously active in the NBA for the Los Angeles Clippers , Minnesota Timberwolves and Memphis Grizzlies for several years . During his seven-year NBA career, he scored 7.1 points and 3.6 assists per game.
He is the son of Srećko Jarić . Jarić is also a Greek citizen.
Since February 14, 2009 he was married to the Brazilian top model Adriana Lima . On November 15, 2009 he became the father of a daughter; the second daughter was born in September 2012. Lima and Jarić separated in May 2014; their marriage was divorced in March 2016 in New York City .
National team
Marko Jarić made his debut in the national team at the World Cup in Athens in 1998 , when he became world champion with the U-22. At the 2001 European Championships in Turkey , they won the European Championship. At the 2002 World Cup in Indianapolis , Jarić won the world title with the national team under Serbian coach Svetislav Pesić . At the EM 2005 in their own country, they failed in the quarter-finals to France with 71:74.

He started his career at KK Roter Stern Belgrade. In 2002 he moved to the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Los Angeles Clippers . He spent 3 years with the Clippers until he was handed over to the Minnesota Timberwolves on August 12, 2005 together with Lionel Chalmers in exchange for Sam Cassell and a first-round draft pick . After three seasons with the Timberwolves and one with the Memphis Grizzlies , Jarić moved back to Europe in December 2009, to the Spanish record champions Real Madrid , where he signed a contract until summer 2010. In January 2011, the Italian club Montepaschi Siena signed him .
