Marko Klok (born March 14, 1968 in Monnickendam ) is a former Dutch volleyball and beach volleyball player . He became European champion in the sand and took part in two Olympic tournaments in indoor volleyball.

Career

Klok began his career in indoor volleyball with Martinus Amstelveen , where he won the championship and cup double twice in a row in 1986 and 1987. With the Dutch national team he took part in the 1992 Olympic tournament in Barcelona and won the silver medal after beating Brazil 0-3 in the final . Klok then played in Italy from 1992 to 1994 before returning to Amstelveen for one season. In 1995 in Saint-Quay-Portrieux he and Michiel van der Kuip won the final against the Czech duo Dzavoronok / Fikar, European beach volleyball champions. As an indoor volleyball player, he moved to VfB Friedrichshafen . In 1997 Moerser SC signed him for a year. In the 1998/1999 season he won the Belgian duo and the Supercup with Noliko Maaseik . A year later he became Italian champion in Rome. In 2003 he returned home. When he took part in the Olympics for the second time in Athens in 2004 , the Dutch national team was eliminated in the preliminary round. With Ortec Rotterdam Nesselande , Klok secured the Dutch double and the Supercup in 2005. In 2006 he was again Dutch champion. The following season Klok played in Russia for Fakel Novy Urengoy and won the European Challenge Cup here . Klok ended his active career in Cyprus . Klok has been a coach at the top Belgian club VC Euphony Asse-Lennik since 2011 .
