Career
Noesen was selected at the OHL Priority Selection 2009 in 64th place by the Plymouth Whalers , for which he scored eight points in his first season in the Ontario Hockey League in 33 games. In the 2010/11 season he not only reached the playoff semi-finals with the Whalers, but also became the best scorer of his team with Robbie Czarnik with 77 points . Following the season, Noesen was selected in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft in 21st place by the Ottawa Senators .
In July 2013, he was transferred to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Bobby Ryan, together with Jakob Silfverberg and a first-round right to vote in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft . He made his debut for the Ducks in the NHL during the 2014/15 season, after having only sparse appearances this and the previous season due to numerous protracted injuries. In the 2015/16 season, the attacker received more playing time with the Ducks in the NHL for the first time, but was signed by the New Jersey Devils when he was supposed to be sent back to the AHL via the waiver in January 2017 . He was active there for almost two and a half years before his expiring contract was not extended in summer 2019 and he joined the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins from the AHL in October 2019 . Almost two months later he also received a contract with their NHL cooperation partner, the Pittsburgh Penguins . When they wanted to send him back to the AHL after six NHL games, he was signed by the San Jose Sharks via the waiver .
