Markus Frischhut (born August 3, 1975 in Innsbruck , Tyrol ) is an Austrian lawyer and university professor . The main focus of his work in research and teaching is European law , in particular European health law, EU law and ethics. He is the author of several specialist publications on European law.

education

Markus Frischhut studied from September 1993 to June 1999 at the University of Innsbruck and graduated with a master's degree in law. From September 1998 to June 1999 he obtained the Certificat - Notions fondamentales de droit international, européen et comparé at the Université Robert Schuman in Strasbourg. He completed the master’s degree in European law ( Schloss Hofen ) from October 1999 to September 2001 and graduated with a “ Master of Laws ” (LL.M.). From August 2000, the doctoral program followed at the Leopold-Franzens University in Innsbruck and he received his doctorate there in June 2002 for Dr. iur.

Professional career

From October 1998 to April 1999, Frischhut was an intern at the European Parliament in Strasbourg , from October 1999 to June 2000 he was a legal intern at the District Court in Hall in Tirol and at the Innsbruck Regional Court .

In the period from February 2002 to March 2002, Frischhut was on a research trip to the Tribunal de Justicia de la Comunidad Andina ( Quito , Ecuador ) and the Secretaría General de la Comunidad Andina ( Lima , Peru ) to research his dissertation. This research was carried out from February 2003 to March 2003 by a research trip to the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar (Quito / Ecuador), the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean ( Santiago de Chile ), the Latin American Integration Association and Mercosur ( Montevideo , Uruguay ) and INTAL ( Buenos Aires , Argentina ) for a publication.

From July 2000 to September 2004, Frischhut was a contract assistant at the University of Innsbruck (from November 2003 to March 2004 as a project assistant on the subject of dispute settlement mechanisms in Latin American economic integration zones). He has been teaching in Austria since 2004, including giving guest lectures at Kyung Hee University in Seoul , South Korea , Kingston University in London and Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid in Spain .

Since October 2013 he has been a Visiting Fellow (Law Department) at Kingston University in London ( United Kingdom ). Frischhut has held a Jean Monnet professorship at the MCI chair "European integration & ethics" since September 2016 and has been researching and teaching at the MCI in the field of EU law since April 2004, where he is FH professor and head of the EU law department .
