Markus Printz (* 4. December 1958 in Karlsruhe ) is a German pastor of the Evangelical Church in Baden , theologian , educator and was 2011 to 2017 Professor of Practical Theology and Christian Education at the International University Liebenzell .

Live and act

After an apprenticeship as a banker from 1977 to 1979, Printz completed a language course in Classical Greek at the GRZ Krelingen in 1980/81 , which he graduated with a Graecum . This was followed by studying Protestant theology in Münster , Tübingen , Erlangen and Heidelberg . This was followed by a teaching vicariate in 1987/88 and then a parish vicariate in the Baden regional church until 1990 . He completed the subsequent doctoral studies in Erlangen and Halle in the field of practical theology in 1995 with his dissertation on the basics of a Bible-oriented congregation pedagogy , where he deals with the congregation as a way of life, in the context of which pedagogical impulses can develop.

Between 1994 and 1998 he was parish priest in Adelshofen and in 1996 guest lecturer for religious and parish education at the University of Mannheim . In 2000 he was sent by the mission company DMG interpersonal to St. Petersburg / Russia, where he developed a course in "Christian pedagogy" until 2003 as a lecturer for pedagogy and theology at the St. Petersburg Christian University (SPCU) of the mission organization LOGOS International 2001 and 2003 was its director of studies. After that he worked as a lecturer for practical theology, missiology and dogmatics at the Theological Institute of the Ingermanland Church (TIIK) until 2008. In 2007/08 he was director of their short training programs, from 2006 to 2008 assistant to the dean and member of the academic advisory board of TIIK. In 2006 he was visiting professor for pastoral education and catechetics at the Theological Seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Central Asia (ELCRAS) in St. Petersburg.

From 2008 to 2011 Printz lectured at the theological seminar of the Liebenzeller Mission in Bad Liebenzell. From 2011 to 2017 he held a chair for practical theology and community education at the International University of Liebenzell, was head of the bachelor's degree course in community education and, from 2015, also for the bachelor's degree in theology / pedagogy in an intercultural context. His main research interests were in the area of ​​community education, community cybernetics and community development. He has been a pastor in Hilsbach- Weiler since September 2017 and has been a guest lecturer at the Adelshofen Theological Seminary since 2018 .

Since 1992 he has been a member of the Practical Theology working group of the Working Group for Evangelical Theology (AfeT).

Markus Printz is married to his wife Claudia. The couple has six children and lived in Calw- Hirsau until 2017 .
