Marlott Persijn-Vautz

Marlott Persijn-Vautz , b. Vautz (born October 2, 1917 in Kaiserslautern , † January 8, 2003 ibid) was a German musician , pianist , répétiteur and journalist .

Life

Marlott Persijn-Vautz was born as the daughter of an elementary school teacher couple and received her first piano lessons from her father. From 1937 she studied music with the main subject piano and harpsichord at the State Academy of Music in Munich and received lessons from Bernhard Paumgartner at the Mozarteum in Salzburg . During the war she had engagements at the Reichsender and at the municipal theaters in Königsberg . Afterwards she became head of studies at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern and freelance house pianist with the Rundfunkorchester des Südwestfunk under Emmerich Smola . They were friends with Erika Köth , who started at the Pfalztheater in 1948 and for whom she worked as a song accompanist. Marlott Persijn-Vautz was a member of staff and juror at international courses and music competitions. In summer courses at the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, she coached international singing students for many years together with Erika Sandt and Harold Heiberg in learning German-language arias and songs. She worked as a soloist, song accompanist and chamber musician well into old age. From 1958 until her death she wrote music reviews for the daily newspaper Die Rheinpfalz and articles for specialist magazines.
