Marcos Antônio da Silva Gonçalves , called Marquinhos , (born October 19, 1989 in Prado , Bahia ) is a Brazilian football player . The right foot predominantly plays in the attacking midfield.

Career

The player received his basic football training at the EC Vitória in Salvador . Marquinhos moved in the 2008 season in the squad of the first division team. He played his first game in the A series on May 10, 2008 against Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte . In the same season he also scored his first goal in the league. In the game against SC Internacional he scored in the 17th minute to lead 1-0 (2-1). The following year, however, he was loaned to Palmeiras and then to Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro to gain experience. At Palmeiras , Marquinhos made his international club debut. In the Copa Libertadores 2009 he ran on February 17, 2009 against LDU Quito . The game was substituted on at half-time. During his short stay at Flamengo Rio de Janeiro , Marquinhos was able to celebrate his first success with the 2011 National Championship in Rio de Janeiro . After his return in 2012, he quickly established himself in the professional team and came to regular assignments. On June 12, 2012, he played his 100th game for the club.

On June 5, 2014 the move of the player to Belo Horizonte was announced. With the club he was able to win the championship in 2014 . On May 20, 2015, he played with Cruzeiro against AC Mineros de Guayana in the 2015 Copa Libertadores . In the game he scored his first international goal in the 83rd minute with his right foot after submission by Eugenio Mena .

At the beginning of 2016, Marquinhos went to Internacional Porto Alegre , but only stayed there until the end of August 2016. He then moved to league rivals FC São Paulo on September 1, 2016 on loan in the current season . He did not come to the championship. His next move was announced in January 2017. Internacional loaned Marquinhos to Sport Recife until the end of 2017 . For the 2018 season, Marquinhos did not play a role in Internacional's squad planning. He was loaned to América Mineiro for the season. With the end of the season in December, his contract with Internacional expired. It wasn't until August 2019 that Marquinhos found a new club. At Guarani FC he received a contract until the end of the year.
