Martín Díaz , full name Martín Damián Díaz Pena , (born March 18, 1988 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

According to his club, 1.87 meters tall, defensive player Díaz, who can also be used in midfield, played for Defensor in 2004 . He was at least in the Apertura 2009 in the first division Defensors. With the Montevideans he ran three times in the Primera División in the 2009/10 season . He didn't score a goal. In early October 2009 he was awarded to the Romanian club Dinamo Bucharest . A station at El Tanque Sisley is also recorded, which he joined in July 2010. In August 2010 he then moved to the Spanish club CD Badajoz in the Segunda B. There he made his debut on September 1, 2009 in the Copa del Rey against Jaén. He played his first league game on September 26, 2010 against Cacereño. Overall, he was used nine times in the league and twice in the Copa del Rey in the 2010/11 season. In November 2012, he joined the Montevideo Wanderers . In the 2012/13 season he recorded nine league games (no goal) for the Uruguayan first division club. In August 2013 he was used in the first round of the 2013 Copa Sudamericana in the club's two games against the Paraguayan representative Club Libertad , in which one was eliminated from the competition. He then played 32 league games in the 2013/14 season, scored one goal and won the 2014 Clausura with the team. On July 17, 2014, his move to Atlético de Rafaela was announced. With the Argentines he signed a contract for a year and a half. There he was used in six first division games (no goal) and one game (no goal) of the Copa Argentina . In mid-January 2016, he joined the Uruguayan first division club Liverpool Montevideo and played twelve first division games (no goal) in the 2016 Clausura.

National team

Díaz was part of the Uruguayan squad that participated in the U-16 South American Championship in Paraguay and reached the semifinals. In the group game against Ecuador he scored a goal in a 2-1 win. With the U-17 Uruguayan , to which he belonged since October 2004 at the latest, he took part in both the U-17 South American Championship in 2005 in Venezuela and the U-17 World Championship in 2005 in Peru . In the World Cup tournament he was used in the matches against the national teams from Mexico , Turkey and Australia . During his time as a junior national player, he also acted as team captain of the U-15, U-17 and U-20 . With the U-20 he took part in the U-20 South American Championship 2007 in Paraguay.
