Martín Tejera , full name Martín Tejera Vázquez , (born February 16, 1991 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

society

According to the club, Tejera, who is 1.88 meters tall and plays the position of goalkeeper , comes from the youth of Nacional Montevideo . He joined the club at the age of eleven. In 2007 he was Uruguayan champion with Nacional with the youth team in a final that was broadcast live on cable TV nationwide. He also got match practice in the reserve team, the Tercera . In the first team, he was the third goalkeeper behind the two goalkeepers Leonardo Burián and Rodrigo Muñoz since his membership of the first team . Tejera was used in the 2011 Copa Libertadores Sub-20 competition, in which Nacional failed as group winners in the quarter-finals to the Mexican representatives of Club América . In the 2010/11 season Tejera was with Nacional Uruguayan champions. Nacional also won the Copa Bimbo , which was held in the summer months in 2010 and 2011 . His team also finished first in the Torneo Apertura 2009/10 and the Torneo Clausura 2010/11. In the 2011/12 season he was also involved as reserve goalkeeper in the repeated championship triumph. Also under coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena he was the regular third goalkeeper in 2013. When, in the 2013/14 season, after Gustavo Munúa's commitment in January 2014, he and Burián received the clearance with the first half of the season's goalkeeper Jorge Bava and the other reserve goalkeepers Leonardo Burián and Gabriel Araújo . Tejera then moved on loan to the second division side Boston River in mid-January 2014 . There he made his debut on March 22, 2014 in the 1-0 away defeat against Cerrito on the first day of the Clausura. In total, he played two league games for the club. For the 2014/15 season he moved to the first division club Atlético Rentistas . In the Apertura 2014, he completed three top division games. In late January 2015, he joined Deportivo Quevedo . In mid-August 2016, he moved to Club Atlético Progreso . In the 2016 season he was not used with the Montevideans.

National team

Tejera, who cites Julio César and Iker Casillas as his role models , was also a member of the U-20 selection of the Uruguayan national soccer team , with which he played a tournament in January 2010, where he was used in the games against Chile, Paraguay and Brazil . Another international match against Chile is also on his books.

Awards

Tejera, who founded the KW Foundation together with his family and is currently (as of May 2012) in the third year of a university, nutritional education ( Ingeniería de la Alimentación / food technology) with the accompanying subjects English and Chinese. Awarded a medal bearing the inscription A search for New Heroes by Computer World magazine in Washington, DC on June 6, 2012 for his use of information technology for a better world . With his foundation, he enables young people, adolescents and adults to have easier access to educational opportunities via a virtual campus.
