Martin Eng (born March 5, 1986 ) is a Norwegian biathlete .

Martin Eng from Nittedal IL competed in his first two races in the Junior European Cup in Ål in 2002 and won both the individual and the sprint. He did not contest the next races until 2004, but always achieved single-digit placements until he took part in a Junior World Championship for the first time in Kontiolahti in 2005. He was 19th in the individual and 17th in the sprint, but had his success as a silver medalist in the pursuit behind his compatriot Anders Bratli, in the relay race he won the gold medal. A year later, Eng could not win any medals in Presque Isle , narrowly missing medals as fourth in the relay race and fifth in the pursuit. In the individual he was also ninth, only in the sprint he missed a top place in 23rd. In Obertilliach , Eng made his debut in the European Biathlon Cup in 2006 and finished 18th in a sprint race. In 2007 Eng took part in a Junior World Championship for the last time in Martell . He finished sixth in the sprint and seventh in the individual and pursuit. With the relay he won the silver medal. It was not until the European Biathlon Championships in Ufa in 2009 that the Norwegian was able to compete again in a major event. In the sprint and the subsequent pursuit he reached 12th place, in the individual he was only a little weaker as 14th. In 2010 he finished 32nd in the individual, 25th in the sprint and 23rd in the pursuit at the European Championships in Otepää . With Ronny Hafsås , Henrik L'Abée-Lund and Rune Brattsveen , he was also fifth as the starting runner with the relay. At the end of the 2010/11 season , Eng made his debut in the Biathlon World Cup at Holmenkollen in Oslo , but as 67th in the sprint he missed both the pursuit race and the points. At the European Biathlon Championships 2011 in Ridnaun , Eng was again fifth in the relay, 21st of the individual, 23rd of the sprint and 19th of the pursuit, alongside Jan Olav Gjermundshaug , Henrik L'Abée-Lund and Lars Helge Birkeland . In 2011 he achieved his best results in the IBU Cup with two third places in sprint and pursuit in Annecy . In the 2011/2012 season , Eng was able to win points in the World Cup for the first time with 11th place in the Hochfilzen sprint .

In 2007 , Eng won the national season title with Halvard Hanevold , Lars Stensløkken and Stian Eckhoff representing the Oslo og Akershus region , in 2009 he was runner-up in the discipline, and in 2010 he won with Magnus L'Abée-Lund , Christian Sæten and Henrik L'Abée-Lund again the title. In 2011 , Eng was third in the season.
