Draft employment contract law

On April 24, 2007, Henssler was awarded the first prize for good legislation by the German Society for Legislation . Henssler and his Cologne colleague Ulrich Preis were honored for the joint discussion draft of an employment contract law , with which the individual labor law should be summarized in a code.

In the Federal Republic of Germany - unlike in many European countries - individual labor law is not codified in a uniform code of law. The regulations are spread over a large number of individual laws (including BGB , KSchG , BUrlG , AGG ). To date, all attempts at codification (e.g. the so-called professor's draft of the DJT and the drafts of the states of Brandenburg and Saxony ) have failed in Germany. The Bertelsmann Foundation is currently trying a new attempt to implement this project. The discussion draft by Henssler and Price was drawn up on their behalf.

Further honors

Henssler was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his work for the German Lawyers' Association . The award was presented to him in September 2012 by the Federal Minister of Justice Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger .
