Martin Hofmann (glider pilot)

Martin Hofmann (* 1961 ) is a German sail art pilot from Salach .

Life

As a child he was a keen model pilot . At the age of 13 he turned to gliding in the Göppingen Fliegergruppe , where at the age of 18 he also acquired the license to pilot motor gliders (then PPL -B). The motor ticket (PPL-A) he acquired in Freiburg , before being named in Aalen-Elchingen -based air Sportring Aalen changed.

His favorite aerobatic figures are Humpty-Bump , males and females .

Success in glider aerobatics

As early as 2009, Martin Hofmann, who has only been in possession of the glider aerobatics license since 2007 and has since then regularly participated in the two-seater championships in Blumberg with his son as co-pilot, achieved 2nd place in the "Advanced" ranking of the German Aero Club -Category. The 2010 glider aerobatic world championship in Jämijärvi was the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale's first “First Category Event” in which he participated as a national team member.

In the run-up to and at the 2010 World Cup, the SWR shot the report Upside Down to Victory and afterwards it was a guest on the afternoon show “ Coffee or Tea ” with the main topic of hail nets . In 2011 Hofmann took part in the World Cup again, unfortunately the adverse betting conditions ruined a good position for him and he ultimately had to be satisfied with 33rd place.

In autumn 2007 Martin Hofmann achieved the bronze, in spring 2008 the silver and in summer 2009, during the training week for the block championship in Pfarrkirchen, the golden performance badge for glider aerobatics of the German Aero Club with the Cirrus K from Wilhelm Düerkop , which Olaf Schmidt took from him has been.
