Martin Hollstein (born April 2, 1987 in Neubrandenburg ) is a German canoeist . He drives in On the one and double kayak in canoe racing .

The trained production mechanic starts for SC Neubrandenburg , where he is trained by Jürgen Lickfett. His national two-man partner is Martin Niemann. At the German Championships in 2007 he won the bronze medal in one. In the national Olympic qualification in 2008 he paddled his way to fifth place and was called up to the national team. When decisive World Cup in Szeged , he finished in a two over 500 meters with Rupert Wagner finished fourth, but missed thus the norm, as the Olympic champion Ronald Rauhe and Tim Wieskötter won the race. Shortly before the 2008 Olympic Games, he surprisingly moved to the side of Andreas Ihle in a two-person kayak over 1000 meters for the sick Rupert Wagner . Since September 2009 he has been training to become a law enforcement officer with the Federal Police . The chief police officer is a member of the Kienbaum Federal Police Sports School , the federal police's top-level sports support facility for summer and year-round sports.
