Martin Müller (born May 26, 1878 in Tegerfelden ; † December 6, 1957 in Goldach ; legal resident in Tegerfelden) was a Swiss industrialist .

Family and education

The Catholic baptized, born Tegerfeldner Martin Müller, son of the carpenter and farmer Georg Müller and his wife Marianne, born Mueller, graduated after attending the middle school an apprenticeship in Zurzach . Martin Müller, who was married to Frieda born Moor, died in December 1957 at the age of 79 in Goldach in the canton of St. Gallen .

Professional background

After completing his apprenticeship in 1896, Martin Müller joined Bruggmühle Goldach as a travel agent, later taking on the role of accountant there . After the establishment of Ostschweizerische Mühlen AG (OMAG) as the central mill sales point in 1906, Martin Müller was appointed deputy director, in 1917 he was promoted to director, and in 1956 he was ceremoniously retired from this position. Under Martin Müller's leadership, OMAG developed into one of the most important grain importing companies in Switzerland.

Martin Müller also held the office of director of the Bruggmühle Goldach, which OMAG bought from 1922 to 1957. Martin Müller, President of the Eastern Switzerland Millers Association, was elected President of the Association of Swiss Millers in 1937, a position he held until 1946.

Political functions

Martin Müller, who joined the Swiss Conservative People's Party (KVP) , was elected to the St. Gallic Cantonal Council in 1926. Müller, who devoted himself in particular to transport, economic and financial policy, left in 1939. In addition, Martin Müller served as president of the Rorschach district party from 1926 to 1936 .
