Martin Rücker

Martin Rücker (born July 17, 1980 in Stuttgart ) is a German journalist and consumer rights activist . Since April 2017 he has been managing director of the consumer organization foodwatch in Germany.

Life

Rücker studied journalism at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences (today Hanover University ) and then worked as a freelance journalist for the German Press Agency and various radio stations , among others . He was an editor at the Neue Presse daily in Hanover for two years before moving to Berlin at the beginning of 2007 and working as a capital correspondent for a number of regional newspapers , including the Passauer Neue Presse , the Ruhr Nachrichten and the Schweriner Volkszeitung . Martin Rücker has been Head of Press and Public Relations at foodwatch since 2009. In November 2016, the organization announced that Martin Rücker would succeed Thilo Bode as managing director of foodwatch Germany. He took up this position on April 1, 2017.

Rücker was next to u. a. Eva-Maria Lemke member of the jury of the Goldenen Zaunpfahls , a negative prize for "absurd gender marketing" initiated by Anke Domscheit-Berg .
