Career

Houston Astros

González signed a contract with the Chicago Cubs on November 23, 2005 . The Boston Red Sox got González in 2011 in the Rule 5 Draft and swapped him for Marco Duarte from the Astros.

González made his MLB debut on April 6, 2012 against the Colorado Rockies . In the game he played as a shortstop , but was replaced by Matt Downs after three at-bats . The Astros lost the game 3–5. In the game, González hit no hit . On April 2, 2013 in the game against the Texas Rangers , González destroyed a perfect game by Yū Darvish in the ninth inning with two out .

In the second game of the 2017 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers , González hit a home run in the ninth inning against the Dodgers pitcher Kenley Jansen , reducing it to a 3-3. The Astros won the second game in the eleventh inning 7–6. The Dodgers had won the last 98 games by that point if they led at the start of the ninth inning. The winner of the World Series had to be determined in seven games. Thus, the World Series went over the maximum length. The Astros won the seventh game 5–1, winning a World Series for the first time in the history of the franchise .

Minnesota Twins

González signed a two-year deal with the Minnesota Twins for $ 21 million on February 25, 2019.
