The Masaraga is a 1328 meter high extinct stratovolcano on the Bicol peninsula on the island of Luzon . It is located in the province of Albay about 11.6 km northwest of the dominant active volcano Mayon and about 24 km north of the city of Legazpi City , the capital of the province. To the northeast, Mount Malinao is approx. 11.4 km away.

The Masaraga lies just above the Mayon volcano, which is clearly visible in the center of the picture, in a cloud field . Lake Bato at the top left .

At the foot of the volcano, the City of Ligao extends in a south-westerly direction, to the west of the volcano also the municipalities of Polangui , Oas , Libon and Bato in the densely populated plain as far as Lake Bato, along the Maharlika Highway and the Manila railway line - Ligao City .

The mountain has the symmetrical structure typical of a stratovolcano. An eruption of the Masaraga is not known, it is classified as a volcano active in the Holocene .
