Lindy Hemming

Linda "Lindy" Hemming (born August 21, 1948 ) is a Welsh costume designer . She received an Oscar in 2000 for her work in Topsy-Turvy .

Life

Hemming studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London . She was initially responsible for costume design at various theaters such as the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theater .

In addition to working on some British films, she has been responsible for costume design in numerous Hollywood productions since the mid-1990s. The most famous films in which Hemming took part include parts of the film series James Bond , Tomb Raider and Harry Potter . She was also involved in the three Batman works by director Christopher Nolan . In 2003, Hemming was on the jury of the British Independent Film Awards .

In 2000, Hemming won an Oscar for Topsy-Turvy - Upside down in the category Best Costume Design . In 2008 she was recognized for her work in The Dark Knight at the Costume Designers Guild Awards in the category Best Costume Design in a Fantasy Film . Hemming was previously nominated for Batman Begins and Casino Royale . At the British Academy Film Awards 2009 she was also nominated for The Dark Knight in the category Best Costumes .
