In the same month he was able to win the silver medal at the South American Championships in Asunción. With his achievements he qualified for the World Championships in London. There he jumped only 16.10 m in the qualification and finished 27th. Also in August he started as a student at Santa Anna University in São Paulo at the Universiade in Taipei, where he finished eighth.

In 2018 he won the silver medal at the South American Games in Cochabamba in Bolivia with 16.78 m . In 2019 he won the silver medal at the Universiade in Naples.
