Mateusz Bryk (born August 24, 1989 ) is a Polish ice hockey player who has been under contract with GKS Tychy in the Ekstraliga since 2015 .

Career

Mateusz Bryk began his career as a hockey player at JKH GKS Jastrzębie , for whom he made his debut in the I league in 2006 . In 2008 he rose with the club to the Ekstraliga , in which he was on the ice for the club until 2015. In 2013 he won the Polish cup competition with the club and thus brought the first major success to the Upper Silesian city. In the same year, his team also reached the playoff final for the Polish ice hockey championship for the first time , but it was lost to KS Cracovia with a 3: 4 victory. Also in 2015 he reached the playoff final with Jastrzębie. This time he and his team had to admit defeat to GKS Tychy 2: 4 wins. He then moved to the same club and won the Polish Cup competition with him in 2017 and a year later the double of championship and cup victory.

International

For Poland, Bryk took part in the junior division of the U20 World Cup in Division I in 2009 . In the senior division, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2013 and 2015 , when he equalized a good three minutes before the end in the decisive game for promotion against Hungary and thus kept hopes of promotion to the top division alive . However, since the Hungarians scored the 2-1 winner six seconds before the end, they finally rose. In 2016 , 2017 and 2018 he also played with the Poles at the World Cup. He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournaments for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang .
