Mathias Lenz (born January 24, 1985 in Heppenheim ) is a German handball player . He plays for the Eulen Ludwigshafen in the handball Bundesliga .

Career

Since the 2013/14 season , the 1.91-meter handball goalkeeper has stood between the posts at the second division TV Großwallstadt . Before that, Lenz played with SG Wallau / Massenheim in the first division and with HG Oftersheim / Schwetzingen , SG BBM Bietigheim , HSG Düsseldorf and DHC Rheinland in the second division. In the 2012/13 season he was under contract with third division team ART Düsseldorf . After the bankruptcy of TV Großwallstadt, Lenz remained without a club for the time being. In December 2015 he helped out at short notice for three games at SC DHfK Leipzig . From February 2017 he was under contract with TSG Friesenheim . After Lenz was promoted to the Bundesliga with Friesenheim in the 2016/17 season, he ended his career. In February 2018, Bundesliga club MT Melsungen signed him. After the end of the 2017/18 season, he moved again to TSG Friesenheim.

Mathias Lenz played 25 international matches for the German national youth team, with which he was runner-up in 2003. With the German junior national team, for which he had 35 appearances, he reached 4th place at the Junior World Championship in 2005.
