Matthew Maurice Lindblad (* 23. March 1990 in Evanston , Illinois ) is a retired American ice hockey player and current - scout , who during his playing career from 2008 to 2016, among other four games for the Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League on the Has contested the center's position . He was also active in the American Hockey League for the Providence Bruins and the Hartford Wolf Pack . Since the beginning of the 2016/17 season he has been employed as a scout for his ex-team Boston Bruins.

Career

Lindblad played during his junior years in the United States Hockey League , first from 2008 to 2009 for the Chicago Steel and then for a year for the Sioux Falls Stampede. In the summer of 2010, the striker moved to Dartmouth College , where, in addition to his studies, he played for the university team in ECAC Hockey , a division in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association , for three years .

Without drafting , the attacker was committed in the summer of 2013 by the Boston Bruins from the National Hockey League , who used him in the following two years with the Providence Bruins , their farm team in the American Hockey League . In the course of the two game years 2013/14 and 2014/15 he also came to two missions for Boston in the NHL. As a free agent - his contract had expired and was not renewed - he joined the New York Rangers in July 2015 . Due to a back injury that he suffered in preparation, he only played eight games for the Hartford Wolf Pack farm team in the AHL and ended his active career at the age of 26 after his one-year contract expired in the summer of 2016.

At the beginning of the 2016/17 season he was hired as a scout by his ex-team Boston Bruins .
