Matteo Ingrosso (born February 12, 1988 in Fortaleza , Brazil ) is an Italian beach volleyball player .

Career

Matteo Ingrosso won the Italian U18 championship with his twin brother Paolo in 2005. In the same year the Ingrosso brothers reached the 29th place at the Junior World Championships in Rio de Janeiro . In the same competition in 2006 in Mysłowice they climbed to fifth place. They won the bronze medal at the Youth World Cup in Bermuda . They achieved fifth place in the junior tournament in Modena in 2007 . In 2008 they played their first open tournament on the FIVB World Tour in Roseto degli Abruzzi . Third in the Junior World Championships in Brighton and finalist in the U23 European Championship in Espinho , they achieved the next successes. In 2009 they took part in a Grand Slam for the first time in Gstaad . They finished the U23 European Championship in Jantarny in fifth place. Then Matteo played two open tournaments with Paolo Nicolai ; he was ninth in Åland and 13th in The Hague . At the end of the season in Sanya , the brothers came in seventh together for the first time together in the top ten of a World Tour tournament.

In 2010 they finished ninth in the Grand Slam in Rome before Matteo played two more tournaments with Nicolai. After the Ingrossos shared 13th place in Marseille , Matteo and Matteo Marnier finished fifth in the The Hague Open. In addition, the brothers won the Italian championship in 2010. In 2011 the brothers finished ninth in the Prague Open. At the World Cup in Rome they won the opening game against the Russians Barsuk / Jutwalin , but missed out on the knockout round by losing to the Brazilian duo Ferramenta / Pedro and the German Dollinger / Windscheif as third in the group. In the further course of the year there was twice place 17 and once 13th place. In 2012, the Ingrossos came ninth and seventeen at the Grand Slams in Rome and Klagenfurt . In 2013 they achieved ninth place in Corrientes as their best result so far .
