Matthias Luckey (* 1982 in Hamburg ) is a German actor .

Career

He is the son of the Hamburg sculptor Klaus-Jürgen Luckey (1934–2001). As a child he played in Hamburg theater productions and also received vocal training in the children's choir of the Hamburg State Opera , where he appeared in choir and children's parts, including as Miles in The Turn of the Screw by Benjamin Britten . In addition to radio play productions, he appeared at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg from the age of thirteen . After graduating from high school and doing community service, he studied at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin from 2005–2009 and was seen at the bat studio theater and at the Deutsches Theater Berlin during this time . He was taught by Angelika Waller , Jutta Hoffmann , Alexander Lang and Dieter Mann , among others . He received his diploma in 2009 with “distinction”.

The artistic director Wilfried Schulz hired him for the 2009/10 season in the actor ensemble of the Dresden State Theater , of which he was a member until 2017. There Luckey played in almost forty productions and worked with directors such as Stefan Bachmann , Andreas Kriegenburg , Roger Vontobel , Tilmann Köhler , Wolfgang Engel , Rafael Sanchez , Nuran David Calis , Jan Gehler , Franz Wittenbrink , Susanne Lietzow and Jan Klata .
