Mattia Cola

Mattia Cola (born May 3, 1984 in Sondalo ) is a former Italian biathlete .

Mattia Cola is a customs officer and starts for GS Fiamme Gialle . The athlete trained by Inderst Montello lives in Valfurva . Between 2003 and 2005 he took part in four Junior World Championships. The best individual result was a twelfth place in the sprint in Kościelisko in 2003 . A year earlier he finished seventh with the relay, to which Markus Windisch also belonged, in Ridnaun . At the European Junior Championships 2003 in Forni Avoltri , a twelfth place in the Sprint Colas was also the best result. Three years later, Cola took part in a Senior European Championship for the first time and achieved a 28th place in the Langdorf sprint as the best result .

Since 2005 Cola competed in the Junior European Cup without initially achieving any successes worth mentioning. After he placed in the top ten several times in 2005, he was allowed to compete for the first time in the individual and sprint of the biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen , but only achieved placements in the three-digit range. Until the World Cup in the following season, Cola started in the Senior European Cup and achieved third place in the pursuit of Martell as the best result. Since the 2007/08 season , Cola has regularly competed in the World Cup. So far, his best result in individual races is 35th place in the season opener (individual) in Kontiolahti . With the Italian relay around Christian De Lorenzi , Windisch and Christian Martinelli , he achieved a top ten position for the first time with the relay at the following World Cup station in Hochfilzen. At the following World Cup station in Pokljuka , he won the first World Cup points in individual races as 28th in the sprint.

Mattia Cola participated in the 2010 Winter Olympics. His best result was 55th place in the pursuit. With the season he was 12.
