The mouse-eared bat roost in Barsinghausen is as FFH -region Reported and thus protected object in the Lower Saxony region of Hanover . It is located in the Barsinghausen district of Groß Munzel .
description
The tower or the attic of the Michaeliskirche in Groß Munzel, built in 1804, is inhabited by a colony of the protected big mouse ears during the summer months . The sparse trees in Groß Munzel and in the southern floodplain serve as living space . Since 2013, images of the bats from the tower have been transmitted from the afternoon to evening in the summer by means of an infrared camera and lighting to a monitor in the neighboring parish hall that is visible from the outside.
