geography
location
The Linderter and Stamstorfer wood is located in the flat Calenberger Land . After the Wolfsberg and Süllberg with the Deister, the Calenberger Bergland begins to the southwest . The forest is east of the route of the Hanover – Altenbeken railway line between Linderte and Lüdersen and is bypassed to the east by the road connection (L389 and K227) between these places. The largely wooded area, interspersed with some pasture areas in the southeastern part, is drained by the Arnumer Landwehr and the ditches that flow towards the Alte Leine .
Natural allocation
The area lies in the natural spatial main unit group Lower Saxony Börden (No. 52), in the main unit Calenberger Lößbörde (521) and in the subunit Hannoversche Börde (521.0).
description
Oak and hornbeam forests with ash and poplar trees stand on moist, alkaline soil interspersed with streams and ponds. In the description by the Lower Saxony State Office for Water Management, Coastal Protection and Nature Conservation , representative occurrences of moist chickweed oak and hornbeam forests and woodruff beech forests are highlighted.
The Linderter and Stamstorfer wood is one of the 30 areas in Lower Saxony of particular importance for the crested newt . The extensive isolation from other occurrences of this type means an increased risk to the population.
protection
The Linderter and Stamstorfer wood is part of the network of European Natura 2000 protected areas . Since all countries of the European Union are obliged to designate the so-called Fauna-Flora-Habitat (FFH) areas as nature reserves, the Linderter and Stamstorfer Holz became a nature reserve on August 9, 2019 . At the same time, the mandatory designation as landscape protection area ceased to apply to the affected areas .
Nature reserve
The area of the nature reserve is identical to that of the existing FFH area.
Landscape protection area (until 2019)
In Linderter and Stamstorfer Holz, two landscape protection areas bordered one another. Most of the forest was on Hemminger and Ronnenberger Boden in the Landwehr - Süllberg landscape protection area (LSG H 00022), the south-western part was in the Süddeister landscape protection area (LSG H 00030) on Springer Boden.
The intended protective measures were the extensification of grassland management and forest management that conserves the soil, including the promotion of old and dead wood . Further measures served to restore the natural water balance by closing drainage ditches and creating small bodies of water.
The objectives of these protective measures were the preservation and development of the near-natural deciduous forest , the safeguarding and development of the spawning waters of amphibians and the preservation and development of extensive grassland areas as habitats for endangered species, especially butterflies .
FFH area
The Linderter and Stamstorfer Holz is one of 27 FFH areas in the Hanover region registered to the European Union. In the Springer area there are further FFH areas with the Hallerbruch , the cave area in the Kleiner Deister and parts of the Süntel, Weser Mountains, Deister and Hallerburger Holz . In Ronnenberg there is another FFH area with the inland salt station at the Ronnenberg potash plant . In the Hemminger area there are still parts of the FFH area Leineaue between Hanover and Ruthe .
