The Evenser Moor is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony city of Neustadt am Rübenberge in the Hanover region .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 184 is 47  hectares in size. It lies between Evensen and Büren . It protects an old, silted loop of the river Leine with an adjoining impact slope , which, according to pollen analysis studies, presumably formed in the Late Glacial Vistula and with its impact slope cut far into the geest that rises up to 20 meters above the Leineaue .

The nature reserve is characterized by low and transitional moors with moorland and swamp forests . In addition, alluvial forest can be found on springy areas . Structurally rich layers of herbs and peat moss can be found in the forests . In the peat bog areas there are former hand peat cuttings , which in many cases have developed into small still waters with well developed aquatic and bank vegetation.

A narrow border of moist birch and pedunculate oak forest has settled along the slope . Partly there is also a pine forest , which is to be converted to an oak-beech forest .

In the south of the nature reserve there are isolated permanent grassland , arable land and ruderal areas .

The area drains via ditches to the Evenser Moorgraben, which in turn drains via Hagener Bach or Schelpwischgraben to the Leine.

The area has been a nature reserve since May 29, 2008. The lower responsible nature conservation authority is the Hanover region.
