The Hubbelsche is between the cities of Seelze and Garbsen in Lower Saxony Region Hannover located nature reserve .

geography

The Hubbelsche ("the hilly") lies immediately west of the intersection of the Mittelland Canal with the Leine . In this area the line was straightened in 1782. Parts of the former oxbow lake can be seen and are still filled with water. About 90% of the Hubbelschen are in Seelzer, the remaining 10% in Garbsen.

The Hubbelsche is part of the FFH area "Aller (with Barnbruch), lower Leine, lower Oker". Until the ordinance as a nature reserve, its area was part of the Mittlere Leine landscape protection area .

description

The nature reserve "Hubbelsche" includes a large extent of marshy pasture lowland forest dominated oxbow lake and a river section of the line together with the surrounding softwood lumber . The closed wood border on the leash and arm loop surrounds an open land area. Here, due to the flooding dynamics, a distinctive riparian herbaceous area has developed. The areas of the oxbow lake show strong water level dynamics. As a regularly flooded, well-structured part of the floodplain, the nature reserve has the character of a relic.

The hardly accessible area forms a retreat for animals between the surrounding agriculturally used areas.
