The Wadebruch is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony town of Garbsen in the Hanover region .
The nature reserve with the registration number NSG HA 085 is 16 hectares in size. It is completely part of the FFH area "Aller (with Barnbruch), lower Leine, lower Oker".
The nature reserve is located at Castle Ricklingen northeast of Wunstorf in lowland sbereich the leash . It places a silted-up oxbow lake and the terrace slopes of the former impact slope under protection.
Most of the nature reserve is characterized by grassland that is flooded when the Leine floods. The area of the actual oxbow lake is unused. It is characterized by alder- spring forest and alder and alder-ash break forest with a distinctive herbaceous vegetation. In some places there are remains of the oxbow lake. Extensive reeds grow in areas that have not yet been completely silted up , and floodplain turf can be found in places .
Natural mixed oak forests grow on the dry, steep slopes in the nature reserve . On the southwest slope edge there is a species-poor sandy grassland .
The area has been a nature reserve since June 27, 1985. The lower responsible nature conservation authority is the Hanover region.
