The Ricklinger Entenpool is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony town of Garbsen in the Hanover region .
The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 069 is 14.6 hectares in size. It is located near Ricklingen Castle between Wunstorf and Garbsen in the Hanoverian Moorgeest , an ice age geest and ground moraine landscape. In the south it borders in parts directly on the residential development of Ricklingen Castle. To the east is the “ Brandmoorwiesen ” nature reserve .
The nature reserve is characterized by a diverse range of different habitats. There are still waters , alder swamps , bushes and near-natural oak- dominated forests and wet meadows .
Within the nature reserve there is a pond with well-developed aquatic vegetation. Its banks are partly flat and partly steep. In parts, it has a well-developed silting szone with reeds stocks. The silting zone changes into wet bushes. Temporary pools can be found in swampy clearings .
The nature reserve is a habitat and retreat for numerous endangered plant and animal species. It has a special meaning for insects and amphibians .
The area has been a nature reserve since December 31, 1983. The lower responsible nature conservation authority is the Hanover region.
