The Köllnischfeld is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony town of Springe in the Hanover region .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG-HA 245 is approximately 755.4  hectares . It is completely part of the FFH area "Süntel, Wesergebirge, Deister" and secures the part of this FFH area located in the Hanover region. To the northeast it borders on the landscape protection area "North Deister", to the west and southwest to the conservation area "South Deister". The area has been under nature protection since November 15, 2019. The lower responsible nature conservation authority is the Hanover region.

The nature reserve is located northwest of Springe im Deister . It places a deciduous forest area under protection on a historically old forest site, which is dominated by beech forests . The beech forests are characterized as grove or woodruff beech forests, depending on the location. In the south of the nature reserve, in the area of ​​the Fahrenbrink, sloping gorge forests are pronounced, which are partly on steep slopes. Sycamore maple , sycamore elm and ash often join the common beech . There are only small areas of oak forests and alder-ash forests along stream floodplains and source areas. Chance falter needle forests , where deciduous trees are mixed. Some of the deciduous forests in the nature reserve have a high proportion of old and dead wood .

One area on the Meinsberg in the south of the nature reserve is designated as a 65.1 hectare natural forest reserve. The area with predominantly natural beech old stands has not been used for forestry since 1970 . Wild garlic , wood anemones , wood violets , woodruff , wood twig and wood sedge settle in the herb layer .

At the Fahrenbrink near Springe there is a specialized vegetation in crevices including brown-stemmed striped fern and German dog's tongue as well as various mosses . In the south of the Fahrenbrink there are two former quarries , on whose plateaus limestone grasslands have developed, some of which have significant orchids . Fuchs' orchid and brown-red stendelwort, for example, settle here . The Ruprechts fern settles on scree slopes .

Numerous springs and streams can be found in the northern area of ​​the nature reserve in particular. Some of the springs are designed as tufa springs . There are also some ponds and pools in the nature reserve.

The nature reserve is a habitat of various bats , including greater mouse-eared , Bechstein's bat , pond bat , Natterer's bat , Brandt's bat and whiskered bat . The Deister is the wildcat's habitat . The forests are home to the fire salamander as well as the butterfly species small kingfisher , elm-tip butterfly and large schiller butterfly . The forests are habitat and a. for black and green woodpecker . The quarries are breeding grounds for the eagle owl . The streams accommodate u. a. the bullhead .

Several paths, some of them hiking trails, run through the nature reserve . In the north, the nature reserve borders on Landesstrasse 401, the Nienstedter Pass and from there to Münder Heerstrasse on the Kammweg, with the exception of an area at the Annaturm . The Springer location of the same name Köllnischfeld and the adjacent forest are not in the nature reserve.
