The Trunnenmoor is a bog northeast of the Burgwedel district of Kleinburgwedel in Lower Saxony . In 1974, 171 hectares of the moor were placed under a nature reserve. The reason for this was the botanical richness in particular due to the nail bush ( Myrica gale ), lung gentian ( Gentiana pneumonanthe ) and peat moss orchid ( Dactylorhiza sphagnicola ). More than 30 small bodies of water are predominantly leftovers from peat digging .
Endangered species
Between 1982 and 1984 the nature reserve was inspected intensively and especially examined for the occurrence of dragonflies . 26 species could be detected, which are classified in the Lower Saxony Red List as follows:
- Severely endangered
Shiny rush damsel (Lestes dryas)
