The first written mention is under the name Bueren for the year 1215. The place is mentioned in two other sources from around 1250 and 1260 under the name Buren .

In 1302 Büren and other areas of the County of Wölpe came to the House of Braunschweig-Lüneburg . In 1495 the place fell to the Principality of Calenberg .

The church in Büren is mentioned for the first time in 1438 and the Reformation was introduced in 1543 . The first and probably only pastor was Bartoldus Nigemeier (around 1543). Before 1565, the parish was connected to Dudensen as a mater combinata .

During the wars of religion from 1626 to 1627, the Tilly soldiers devastated the place. For the Bailiwick of Mandelsloh , the manual and clamping services were set up from 1737 . The secret chamber secretary Denicke in Hanover donated the Büren school in 1748. The old schoolhouse was built in 1811.

From 1813 to 1830 the tax payments were changed. During this period the tithe was replaced. From 1819 onwards, the replacement of the estate and pasture began and in 1826 the residents decided to divide the Bürener Heide. From 1844 to 1849 which found Verkoppelung the Bürener Feldmark instead. In 1849, a great fire destroyed five farms.

In the years 1894 to 1898 the road from Wulfelade via Büren to Bevensen was expanded. The place got a paved thoroughfare. Ten years later, the paths in the village were also paved.

The new schoolhouse was built in 1912. The teacher Heinrich Schulze took up his duties. The war memorial for the fallen soldiers of World War inaugurated the 1920s. In 1933 the sports field at the Lehmkuhle was completed.

Since 1963 the residents have been getting their drinking water from the Harz water pipeline .

On March 1, 1974, Büren was incorporated into the city of Neustadt am Rübenberge.

coat of arms

The design of the municipal coat of arms of Büren comes from the heraldist and coat of arms painter Gustav Völker , who designed all coats of arms in the Hanover region. On August 27, 1952, the community representatives decided unanimously in a meeting to submit the coat of arms and the seal for approval. The award of the coat of arms was carried out on April 27, 1953 by the Lower Saxony Minister of the Interior .

Coat of arms of Büren
Blazon : “In blue, a growing , silver gable with two Lower Saxon horse heads , witha silver owl sittingin the black hole. Above in blue on both sides a golden heart floating. "
Foundation of the coat of arms: The village of Büren takes its name from the Old High German "bur" (apartment), "burion" - the form of the dativ pluralis- (to the apartments). The owl should refer to the "Uhlenbrook". Numerous local historical works by a local writer have been collected under this name. The hearts should embody the love of home.

Public facilities

  • The Büren volunteer fire brigade emerged in 1934 from the Germania men's choir . The founding members elected the first community fire chief Heinrich Biermann from their ranks. The first fire station was used by the fire brigade until 1973. In the early years, the firefighters fought the fires with hand pumps and fire buckets, filled from the four ponds in the village. In 1959 a portable pump trailer (TSA) was put into service, which was initially pulled by horses. A tractor later took on this task. In 1976 the fire brigade received a used Opel Blitz built in 1958, an LF 8 with front-mounted pump and TS 8/8 from Berenbostel , and in 1982 there was a new TSF , a six-seater Mercedes. The construction of the fire station began in 1989 with volunteers from the fire brigade, and in 1990 it was finished. In 2006 the fire brigade received a new TS 8/8 with an electric starter and in 2009 the current vehicle in service came. The first youth fire brigade existed from 1977 to 1987, the re-establishment took place in 1997 and from 2013 it was inactive again.
