history
The first documentary mention is as early as 1250 under the name Brase . In the 13th century, Brase belonged to the parish of Mandelsloh, because the Minden bishop Voloqin transferred the church tithing of the village of Brase from the parish of Mandelsloh to the Mariensee monastery in 1282 , whereas the monastery of the provostry of the Johannesstiftes, to which this tithe was entitled, transferred 60 marks of Bremen silver .
On September 26, 1330, the squire Heinrich von Hodeberg sold a farm to the dukes Otto III. and Wilhelm II of Braunschweig-Lüneburg . In the fiefdom register of Braunschweig-Lüneburg around 1360/1370, a farm and four droppings are named for Brase. On July 26, 1360, Mechthild, the widow of Nikolaus von Ahlden, and her son Lamprecht transferred two Hufen to the Mariensee Monastery . There is also evidence of a sale of two hooves to the monastery by Lamprecht and his two brothers on August 1st of the same year.
