coat of arms

Empede coat of arms
Blazon : Red  : blue divided ; up over a diagonally left open golden barrier , the four bottom and top three times alternately pruned is a golden plowshare ; below the lower half of a golden water mill wheel . "
Reasons for the coat of arms: The blue field indicates the water flow on the Leine. The half mill wheel is a symbol of the watermill built around 600 years ago at the current location, which was the property of the Mariensee Monastery until the beginning of 1800. The middle mill iron stands for the Vollmeierhof, which was once in the town, the number of water shovels for nine Halbmeierhöfe, the bracing of the mill wheel for six “Großköthnerhöfe” and the iron bolts for ten “Koth and Brinkitzerhöfe”. For centuries these 26 farmsteads formed the municipality of Empede. The ploughshare shown in the red field symbolizes the agricultural character of the village. The turnpike is reminiscent of the former customs and road house in Himmelreich on the old Post and Heerstraße Hanover - Bremen, the seven branches of the first seven fireplaces there.

flag

The colors red / gold / blue, arranged one above the other, serve as the flag background. In the middle of the flag is the coat of arms of the town.

The flag was designed in Heaven in 2014. Their colors are based on the existing coat of arms. The colors red and gold are also the basic colors of the flag of the Hanover region. The color blue represents the flow of the line. The coat of arms was completely framed by the middle division. The color classification corresponds, like the previously created coat of arms, to the given heraldic color rules .
