Max-Jonas Karpa (born February 1, 1994 in Hamburg ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career hall

Karpa started playing indoor volleyball as a teenager in his hometown at Walddörfer SV . The outside attacker later played in the Regionalliga Nord at Eimsbütteler TV , VCO Hamburg and Niendorfer TSV . Karpa has been playing in the Third League North on Eimsbütteler TV since 2018 .

Career Beach

Karpa has also been active in beach volleyball since 2003, initially alongside his father Michael. From 2010 to 2012 he played with the Eckernförder Börge Wittmüss mainly at Northern German tournaments. Karpa / Wittmüss won bronze at the U20 DM in Berlin in 2011 and became German U20 runner-up in 2012 in Grimma . With Max Betzien , he finished fourth at the U18 European Championships in Vilnius in 2011 . Then Betzien / Karpa finished fifth at the U19 World Cup in Larnaka , became German U19 runner-up in Kiel and again landed fifth at the U20 European Championship in Hartberg . A year later, Betzien / Karpa finished fifth again at the U21 World Cup in Umag . In 2014 Karpa played with Hendrik Matthießen and various other partners at national tournaments. In 2015 Karpa played together with Julius Thole on the Smart Beach Tour and other national tournaments. At the German Championships in Timmendorfer Strand , Karpa / Thole achieved seventh place. In 2016 Karpa played alongside Valentin Begemann , with whom he finished ninth at the German Championships .

Milan Sievers from Kiel has been his partner since 2017 . Karpa / Sievers started on the national Smart Beach Tour and also took part in the German championship in Timmendorfer Strand . In 2018 they started on the national Techniker Beach Tour and won the FIVB 1-star tournament in Manila . At the German championship , they finished 13th again.

In 2019 Karpa played together with the Olympic participant Markus Böckermann . On the Comdirect Beach Tour 2020 , Karpa qualified for the fifth time for the German Beach Volleyball Championship in September alongside Leo Hauschild in mid-August .
