Works

Köhler's painting style can be assigned to expressive realism . During his time in Berlin, Köhler mainly painted portraits, later he concentrated on landscape painting. Already at the beginning of the 1980s Köhler dealt with the topic of “home”, which was a concern of his until the end. In his own style, he has created modern, colorful, lively and, in some cases, strongly reduced, but always emotional paintings. The main themes were the landscapes of the Black Forest, portraits and genre painting. Köhler's works were shown in around 60 exhibitions in several European countries. About 80 of his paintings are in public ownership.
