Max Werner (architect, 1877)

Max Werner (born March 26, 1877 - † December 31, 1933 ) was a German architect .

Life

Max Werner worked mainly as a freelance architect in Berlin and the surrounding area and was a member of the Association of German Architects (BDA).

Buildings and designs

Most of Max Werner's residential buildings have survived, for example country houses and apartment buildings in Berlin-Spandau and Berlin-Zehlendorf .

  • 1905: House for Adolf Scholz in Berlin-Zehlendorf, Limastraße 16 (under monument protection)
  • 1907-1908: Villa Lemm , Home for the manufacturer Otto Lemm in Berlin-Gatow , Rothenbücher way 04.02 (listed building)
    villa and outbuildings are today like that of Richard W. Kohler and Carl Kempkes designed gardens under preservation . In 1999, the reconstruction of the Villa Lemm garden was awarded the Ferdinand von Quast medal for monument protection and preservation.
  • 1912: House for the manufacturer Max Kosegarten in Berlin-Zehlendorf, Goethestrasse 17/19 (since 1952 Evangeline Booth Hospital , a listed building)
  • 1921: Mausoleum for the Lemm family in the cemetery of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Congregation on Fürstenbrunner Weg in Berlin-Westend (with glass mosaics from the United Workshops for Mosaics and Glass Painting Puhl & Wagner / Gottfried Heinersdorff ; listed)
  • 1922–1923: Villa in Bad Saarow
    The house was owned by Franziska Princess zur Lippe from 1932 and was then given as a gift to the Demeter Association , which used it as the central German headquarters. After 1945 it was the seat of the municipality council.
  • 1922–1923: Haus am Waldsee , residential building for the factory owner Hermann Knobloch in Berlin-Zehlendorf, Argentinische Allee 30 (under monument protection)
  • 1925–1930 (in several construction phases): Reconstruction and expansion of the district hospital in Angermünde
  • 1928: Haus am See , home for Moritz Hirschler in Bad Saarow, Silberberger Strasse 7
