Maximilian Kessler (born April 6, 1989 ) is a German athlete who specializes in sprinting .

Life

Kessler initially played football until he got into athletics. At the German Junior Championships in 2009 he was third with the 4 x 100 meter relay and in 2010 second with the 4 x 400 meter relay. In 2011 he won the German junior championships in both the 100 meter singles and the 4 x 100 meter relay. At the U23 European Championships , which were held in Ostrava in the same year , he won the bronze medal in 39.19 s with the German 4 x 100 meter relay (Florian Huebner, Maximilian Kessler, Robin Erewa , Felix Göltl).

In the adult area, Kessler was already used at the German championships in 2009 in the 4 x 100 meter relay, with which he reached second place. In 2011 he won with the relay ( George Petzold , Eric Franke , Maximilian Kessler, Lucas Jakubczyk ) in Kassel at the German championships. The following year he was third in the hall over 60 and 200 meters and second in the 4 x 200 meter relay. In 2013, Kessler won the German indoor championships in the 200-meter run. In August 2013 he was nominated for the 4 x 100 meter relay for the 2013 World Championships in Moscow .

Kessler has been with SCC Berlin since 2007 and trains with Carsten Köhrbrück .
