Explanations
  • all free style competitions
  • WM = World Championship
  • the Meiji Cup is not the Japanese championship that takes place every December. The Meiji Cup is an invitation-only tournament that always takes place in June of each year and to which the four best-placed wrestlers from the Japanese championship of the previous year are invited. The winner of the Meiji Cup then usually represents the Japanese colors at the World Cup or, if necessary, at the Olympic Games.
