In the genus V , from 1910 P 2 , the associated Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg Friedrich-Franz Railway locomotives the wheel arrangement 1B.

history

The procurement of the locomotives was based on the standard parts for the Prussian P 2 from 1877 (sample sheets 15 and 16). The Mecklenburgische Friedrich-Franz-Eisenbahn acquired six machines from Borsig in 1884 and 1885 and Deutsch-Nordischer Lloyd acquired six machines from Hanomag in 1884 . Another Henschel locomotive followed in 1887 .

The locomotives of the MFFE were given the numbers 60 to 65. The locomotives of the Lloydbahn were originally given the numbers 1 to 7, after the nationalization in 1894 the numbers 99 to 105 and in 1895 finally the numbers 66 to 72.

The locomotives, together with the classes P 3 1 and P 3 2, formed the basis for the passenger train service of the Mecklenburgische Bahn.

The first locomotive was retired in 1914. The vast majority of the locomotives were retired in 1921 and 1922. Four locomotives were still in the renumbering plan included the Deutsche Reichsbahn of 1923 and the numbers should get 34 7201-34 7204th

Constructive features

The locomotives had an internal sheet metal frame. The long boiler had three sections and the smoke chamber was expanded. The steam dome sat on the rear shot. The standing boiler was equipped with a Ramsbottom safety valve. The machines were equipped with a conical Prüsmann chimney.

The horizontally arranged two-cylinder wet steam engine was on the outside. The locomotives from Borsig had internal valve boxes, the other machines external valve boxes and Allan controls. The connecting rods acted on the first coupling axle.

The suspension was provided by leaf springs located under the axles. The leaf springs of the running axle lay on the locomotive frame above the wheel.

The locomotives had a pneumatic brake of the type Schleifer. The sandpit sat on the second boiler section and sanded the first coupling axle.
