The noble family Mehmet von Königstreu goes back to Ludwig Maximilian Mehmet von Königstreu .

The forefather

  • Ludwig Maximilian Mehmet von Königstreu was born around 1660 as the son of the Turkish governor of Koroni ( Peloponnese ) and was captured as a captured Turk in 1685 when the fortress there was captured during the Turkish Wars . He came to the court of the Elector of Hanover , converted to Christianity and worked there as a valet . On April 13, 1706 he married the 15-year-old Maria Hed (e) wig Wedekind (* 1691; † 1729), daughter of the citizen Hans Wedekind and his wife Sophia Hedwig, born von Soden in the castle church . In 1716, at the instigation of George I , he was raised to hereditary imperial nobility by the emperor as "von Königstreu" . In 1723 he received the house at Schmiedestraße 30, the old town bailiwick, as a gift. Ludwig Maximilian Mehmet von Königstreu died on November 1st, 1726 in London .

  • The eldest son Johann Ludewig Mehmet von Königstreu (* 1709) died in 1775; his grave slab can be found today on the north wall of the tower of St. Petri in Hanover-Döhren .
  • Georg Ludwig Mehmet von Königstreu (* 1720) founded the Freemason Lodge Friedrich on January 21, 1746 . He served as a captain in the Garde Grenadier Corps on horseback and died in the war at the age of 32 in 1752.
  • The eldest daughter Sophie Caroline Mehmet von Königstreu († 1758) was married to Georg August von Wangenheim for the second time . Her son Georg Philipp Wilhelm von Wangenheim was Lieutenant General of the Electorate of Brunswick-Lüneburg , Chief of the 4th Cavalry Regiment and Lord of Sonneborn .
