occupation

Meine Daten und I is a German documentary with parts of a feature film by the Hildesheim director Philipp Eichholtz from 2009.

overview

The film deals in a humorous and at the same time serious way with problems such as online searches , data storage of telephone and internet connections, scoring points in the banking system, surveillance cameras and microphones in public and private places and with the new BKA law, initiated by German interior minister.

action

The fictional director Axel Ranisch decides to make a film together with his girlfriend and his buddy and cameraman Hardy Schwetter about the problem of online searches and data protection. In the manner of Michael Moore , the trio goes in front of the Reichstag building in search of real politicians to answer their questions. To the surprise of the viewer, the feature film here changes into a report. There are politicians like Wolfgang Bosbach , deputy chairman of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group, Ralf Göbel , deputy spokesman for internal affairs in the CDU parliamentary group, Wolfgang Wieland , spokesman for internal security in the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group, Michael Hartmann , deputy spokesman for internal affairs for the SPD -Bundestag faction and Clemens Binninger ( CDU / CSU ) MdB to speak and comment on the (party) political aspects of the topic examined. Non-politicians such as Peter Schaar , Federal Commissioner for Data Protection , Constanze Kurz as spokeswoman for the Chaos Computer Club , Andreas Pfitzmann from TU Dresden and the German artist and network activist padeluun also have their say .

criticism

Goodmovies believes that the "fictional filmmaker Axel Ranisch is looking for answers from various politicians [...] and is increasingly reaching his limits professionally and privately". The film is a "funny and ingenious investigation into creeping changes in our society, about helplessly accepted scandals and the question: How far can the state actually go?"
