Company history
The company was founded in 1902 by Edwin Meredith when he published Successful Farming magazine . In 1922 Meredith published Fruit, Garden and Home magazine , which was renamed Better Homes and Gardens in 1924 . Since that time, Meredith has introduced several other magazines. In 1986 the magazine Ladies' Home Journal was acquired and in 2005 the women's magazine portfolio was taken over by Gruner + Jahr .
On November 26, 2017 Meredith announced an agreement to acquire Time Inc. known. The transaction, financially supported by the Koch Equity Development fund of the brothers Charles G. Koch and David H. Koch , was completed at the end of January 2018. In September 2018, the sale of Time magazine to Marc Benioff and his wife for $ 190 million was announced.
