The HK Tschelmet Tscheljabinsk ( Russian ХК Челмет Челябинск ) is a Russian ice hockey club from Chelyabinsk founded in 1948 . The team plays in the Wysschaja Hockey League and plays its home games in the Metschel Sport Palast. The club colors are blue, black and gray.
history
The club was founded in 1948 under the name Metallurg Chelyabinsk. This name was retained until 1990 when it was renamed Metschel Tscheljabinsk. This is the name of the team from the Russian metallurgy group Mechel , which also includes the Chelyabinsk Combine, to which the club belongs. Between 1997 and 2003 the team played in the super league and was on an equal footing with city rivals HK Traktor Chelyabinsk . From 2003 to 2010 the team played in the second-rate Wysschaya League . In 2010 she was included in their successor league Wysschaja Hockey League . In the summer of 2012, the main sponsor Metschel left and the association was renamed HK Tschelmet Tscheljabinsk ( Чел ябинск Мет аллург).
HK Tschelmet Tscheljabinsk could not celebrate a title success so far.
